Turkey Burgers (290 )
If you are BBQing this summer, this recipe is a great red meat or roast turkey alternative high in protein, low in saturated fat and contains healthy B vitamins.
Ingredients
High fibre - 3g of fibre per serve
1 kg turkey mince |
2 free range eggs |
20 grams rolled oats |
1 tablespoon psyllium husk |
1 grated red onion |
2 finely minced garlic cloves |
1 tablespoon smokey paprika |
1 teaspoon cajun powder (optional) |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper |
1/4 cup freshly chopped chives |
Cranberry jelly to serve |
Olive oil to oil plate |
Low fibre - 1g of fibre per serve
1 kg turkey mince |
2 free range eggs |
1 tablespoon white flour |
1 tablespoon dried garlic granules |
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes |
1 smokey paprika |
1 teaspoon cajun powder (optional) |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon freshly cracked pepper |
1/4 cup freshly chopped chives |
Cranberry jelly to serve |
Turkey Burgers Directions
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl, then section the mixture into 10 portions.
Oil the BBQ plate and heat to a medium temperature. Grill the burgers until golden brown on both sides and cooked through – approximately 6 minutes
Serve with traditional roasted vegetables, or a salad, or on crusty brown rolls with fresh salad leaves and a dollop or cranberry jelly
