Love Your Warrior is very excited to be supporting women with bowel cancer by fundraising for Bowel Cancer Australia's Kick Ass campaign, by donating $5 from any purchase of Paisley Luxe Seatbelt Pillows or Paisley Stylish Surgical Drain Bags to the charity.
“In September 2018 I was diagnosed with Invasive DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) Breast Cancer consisting of 10 invasive tumours, I underwent a single mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiation, popping out the other end and walking out of hospital for the last time on my 44th birthday in 2019, to a beautiful morning tea organised by my lovely work colleagues.
Five days later (and after 7 months of planning) on the 1st of August 2019, I launched Love Your Warrior,” said Sonia, Founder of Love Your Warrior and Firsthand Warrior.
Following her diagnosis Sonia was very appreciative of all the candles and flowers she received because they let her know people were thinking of her.
“But I couldn’t light the candles because the scent made me nauseous, and after a little while, the flowers would finish.
So, I created a range of beautiful products that helped me feel more like myself in a world where nothing is familiar. Further refined to make sure they are relevant and on-point for each stage of a warrior’s experience,” Sonia adds.
The Luxe Seatbelt pillow continued to add comfort during Sonia’s car travel after surgery, during chemo for her port-a-cath, and during radiation.
While her “stylish surgical drain bag gave me independence, allowed me to be hands free, helped me safely store and manage the drains especially at night, and kept them out of view so I could easily go about my day (including school pick up) and relax when I had visitors because no one knew I had a drain),” said Sonia.
“Anytime we can support women undergoing Surgery, Chemotherapy and Radiation by providing options of comfort, luxury and style so they can become stronger and more independent when they need it most, we will. From one Warrior to another,” Sonia adds.
