Following her diagnosis with bowel cancer in 2018, Christina wanted to use her love for creating quilts and patchwork to raise awareness and support Bowel Cancer Australia.
Helping to raise much-needed funds and awareness, Christina and her sister Berni held a quilt retrospective ‘Christina's Creations and Colon'.
“When we decided to host an event celebrating Christina’s contribution to the fabric arts, we were inundated with offers of help. From donations of gifts for a silent auction to raffle prizes, donations of afternoon tea, and the hire of the hall and the flyer artwork,” said Berni.
Christina has been a patchwork artist and quilter for many years and during that time has facilitated and taught many classes.
“Although I was only able to stay a short while, it was lovely to see lots of my students and their quilts, some were looking very loved,” Christina added.
Warmest thanks to Christina, Berni and all who supported the ‘Christina's Creations and Colon' event, helping to save lives and improve the health and wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer.
