“The fact that we have already raised over $24,000 is a testament to how much our mate was loved.

Charlie was a fit, healthy, 28 year old ready for the next stage of his life. He had a happy life, a good job, a loving girlfriend. His diagnosis in early 2023 was a shock to us all. Stage 4 bowel cancer with a bleak outlook.

Charlie was the sort of guy that would light up any room. His gentle nature, infectious smile and warm soul made anyone feel completely comfortable in his presence. His 2 year fight against this disease was brave, inspiring and uplifting. He refused to fall into a spiral of self-pity and anger and right up until his last day he never let his illness define him.

Ultimately, Charlie lost his battle with bowel cancer earlier this year. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kate, his brother Tom, his parents Rod and Andrea and many many friends. To honour Charlie, a group of Charlie’s friends along with his family are walking/running in this year’s City2Surf in Sydney to raise awareness for Bowel Cancer Australia. Donations are still open, and we would be so grateful for any donations as we prepare to run. Love you Charlie ❤️” ~ Stewart
