“I chose to support Bowel Cancer Australia as it is a cause very close to my heart. I lost my grandad two years ago while I was living overseas in Japan. One of my last memories with my grandad was showing him photo albums of my travels and experiences.

I’m originally from the UK and live overseas now in Australia. Fundraising for the GC50 Run Festival was an amazing opportunity to honour him and to continue sharing my overseas experiences with him. 🤍

It was also a chance to process my grief, as living at a physical distance can sometimes create a disconnect from the loss. I hope those who are similarly grieving or healing from a loss give themselves the space to experience and enjoy life free of any guilt. You will find little ways to keep them close. 🌟

It was my first half marathon, and I’m really pleased with how it went. I completed it in 2 hours and 5 minutes (with the help of some of my grandad’s favourite artists Bryan Adams and Bruce Springsteen!)” ~ Hannah.
