“I took part in the HBF run for a reason, and my reason is my beautiful friend Mel.

Fundraising for Bowel Cancer Australia is very close to my heart. Unfortunately, my gorgeous friend Mel passed away this year. I will continue to get her story out, and Mel will always be remembered. Last year, I was very blessed to be able to take part in the HBF run with Mel. Unfortunately, this year Mel had passed. Team Mel completed the run in honour of Mel. I will continue Team Mel next year, and I know Mel is with us all the way.

I have attached a photo of Mel and me from last year and a photo of our Team and Mel’s family and friends this year.

Mel was beautiful and kind; she would light up every room she walked into.

She is my forever friend and was a bonus Aunt to my daughter and son.

I am so very proud of Team Mel; over $3400 was raised.

My hope is that home tests will become available and free for those who are 30 and over; even better to be available for any age. Mel was just 36 when she passed away this year.
