Unfortunately, my gorgeous friend Mel passed away this year. I will continue to get her story out, and Mel will always be remembered. Last year, I was very blessed to be able to take part in the HBF run with Mel. Unfortunately, this year Mel had passed. Team Mel completed the run in honour of Mel. I will continue Team Mel next year, and I know Mel is with us all the way.I have attached a photo of Mel and me from last year and a photo of our Team and Mel’s family and friends this year.Mel was beautiful and kind; she would light up every room she walked into. She is my forever friend and was a bonus Aunt to my daughter and son.I am so very proud of Team Mel; over $3400 was raised. My hope is that home tests will become available and free for those who are 30 and over; even better to be available for any age. Mel was just 36 when she passed away this year. Most heroes have a cape; my hero has wings 🦋🦋🦋.” ~ Nadine.Thank you so much, Nadine, for sharing your very personal story with us, for your support, & to honour the memory & legacy of your beautiful friend Mel.Your awareness & fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated & will have a direct impact, helping to save lives & improve the health & wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer. If you were inspired by the Cassandra’s fundraising activity & would like to support Bowel Cancer Australia through a social event or fundraiser, check out our Activities & Events Calendar on our website.
