Madeline and Dave – 2026 TCS Sydney Marathon Community All Be Bold Bowel Cancer Awareness Month Community Company Decembeard Dry July Early-Onset In Memory Loved One Never 2 Young World Cancer Day “On August 30, we are running Sydney Marathon aiming to raise $1,000 for Bowel Cancer Australia. This cause is important to both of us. In 1994, I lost my mum to bowel cancer. She was just 41 years old, and by the time she was diagnosed, it was too late. Thirty years later, in 2024, Dave was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer aged 47. This time, the outcome was different because he was diagnosed in time. Throughout his diagnosis and treatment, Bowel Cancer Australia was an incredible source of support. Early detection saves lives. Every dollar we raise goes toward helping Bowel Cancer Australia continue their work supporting people facing a diagnosis, funding awareness, and making sure fewer families go through what my family did in 1994. Thank you to everyone that has supported us and remember to check your poo!” ~ Madeline. If you were inspired by Madeline and Dave’s awareness and fundraising efforts and would like to support Bowel Cancer Australia through a sporting event, please get in touch with us through our webform.
