Bonita T – City2Surf Community All Be Bold Bowel Cancer Awareness Month Community Company Decembeard Dry July Early-Onset In Memory Loved One Never 2 Young World Cancer Day “I’m running City2Surf for Bowel Cancer Australia in memory of my cousin, Natalie, who turned one of life’s hardest challenges into an opportunity to help others. Throughout her Stage IV bowel cancer journey, Nat was passionate about breaking the stigma around uncomfortable conversations. She believed that speaking openly about symptoms and prioritising early detection could save lives. One of Nat’s final wishes was that any donation, big or small, support Bowel Cancer Australia and the research needed to improve outcomes for patients and, one day, find a cure – especially for those diagnosed at a late stage. Every step I take in City2Surf is for her, and every donation is a way of continuing the legacy she worked so hard to build. Nat’s kindness, strength, and selflessness continue to inspire everyone who knows and loves her. I run in honour of her, for her family and her two young boys who miss her every day, and for every family whose lives have been touched by bowel cancer. I hope that by sharing her story, more people will have the conversations she encouraged and seek help earlier, as well as create hope for those impacted by cancer.” ~ Bonita.
