Our event was attended by family and close friends of my daughter EJ who passed away from Stage 4 early-onset bowel cancer on 13 September 2024 aged 42 years old. What was really pleasing was the event was attended by some young teenagers who really embraced the slow stitch activity and enjoyed the friendship of the group doing something positive together. Family and friends gathered together for a Slow Stitch Vessel workshop to raise funds for early-onset bowel cancer research and to support the legacy of EJ Hassan and Dr. Sam Blaikie both of whom died too young from metastatic bowel cancer. We gathered to craft, connect and contribute and felt the positivity and support amongst us despite the contrast of reflecting on the tragic loss of two shining lights in our lives. Supporting early-onset bowel cancer research by fundraising is helping us to advocate for our loved ones and improving health outcomes for all young people.” ~ Jo Warmest thanks for your continued support, Jo. What a wonderful way to raise awareness of early-onset bowel cancer and thoughtful way to honour the memory and legacy of EJ and Sam. Your support is greatly appreciated and will have a direct impact, helping us to champion what matters most to people impacted by bowel cancer and empower everyone affected by it to live their best life.
