Kara wanted to do a series with red apples on the front and, for the month of June, sell her red apple handmade paper cards to raise awareness and provide the funds to Bowel Cancer Australia. This is Kara’s message: “I make handmade (seeded) paper and cards and thought I’d make a range with the apple 🍎 symbol for bowel cancer awareness. I made enough to try and raise $500, but after selling out in 4 days, I went on to raise $1500, which I was overwhelmed with gratitude for. I lost a dear friend a year ago today to bowel cancer, which took her from us less than a year after diagnosis. She was only 37. I miss her every day and wanted to honour her memory and bring light to a topic not often discussed. Thank you for the acknowledgment and for all that you do.” ~ Kara. Thank you so much, Kara, for sending and sharing your story with us, and for your invaluable support, and to honour the memory of a dear friend who you lost to bowel cancer. Your awareness and fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated and will have a direct impact, helping to save lives and improve the health and wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer. If you were inspired by Kara’s fundraising activity and would like to support Bowel Cancer Australia through a social event or fundraiser, check out the Get Involved page on our website.
