Rachel Bernardo, one of our staunch supporters, organised an art exhibition called “So this is early-onset bowel cancer… An immersive, interactive Exhibition” at The Loft Gallery in Redcliffe to raise funds and awareness for Bowel Cancer Australia. Rachel soldiered on, in spite of some drawbacks leading to the exhibition. This is what Rachel sent:

“It was a great opening night  for ‘So this is early-onset bowel cancer… An immersive, interactive Exhibition’ at The Loft Gallery in Redcliffe. Artworks were sold, and funds were raised from the opening-night ticket sales. It was a lot harder this year to get sponsors. I tried and got none, whereas last year I secured three sponsors. During the month-long exhibition, we sold raffle tickets along with small items like candles, keyrings, soaps, etc. General feedback from the gallery is that the cost of living has hit everyone hard, and people (including businesses) are just not spending, so I felt the difference this year.

Overall, there was lots of positive feedback, and everyone had a great time. They learned a lot about early onset and had strong community support with lots of visits during the month. I had people from Hervey Bay, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and interstate visit for opening night, so I was happy about that. The vibe was great!” ~ Rachel.

Thank you so much, Rachel, for organising this beautiful, immersive, and interactive art exhibition to raise funds and awareness! Thank you so much for your ongoing support of Bowel Cancer Australia; we are truly grateful for your fundraising efforts.

Your awareness and fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated and will have a direct impact, helping to save lives and improve the health and wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer.
