They were hoping for donations of $2 or more. They provided information and had the screening test kit on display for people to look at. “The event went well. We did have 8 booked in, and only 4 turned up (which is common for library events), but the people who came really appreciated the event. One lady had survived bowel cancer, so it was quite emotional. The four people donated $21 (which was over my hope of $20), which was lovely. Bowel cancer is a terrible illness, and we at Boronia Library were very happy to create a fundraising event with some yummy homemade apple crumble, a showing of Kenny (2006), and, of course, much conversation about bowel cancer prevention and recovery. We wish Bowel Cancer Australia all the best in promoting help for people.” ~ Jess. Thank you very much, Jess, and participants from Your Library in Boronia for the successful fundraising activity and raising awareness about bowel cancer. Well done, and congratulations! Your awareness and fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated and will have a direct impact, helping to save lives and improve the health and wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer.
