“I have signed up for my 5th year of Dry July in support of Bowel Cancer Australia. This year I have started a team called The Fizz Free Friends.

Bowel Cancer Australia is a charity that is very close to my heart. Unfortunately, bowel cancer has impacted our family over the past few years. We lost a very dear friend six years ago at the age of 39 and then in December 2023 my husband was diagnosed with Stage IV bowel cancer at the age of 40. Bowel Cancer Australia has been a great comfort to both my husband and I over the past 18 months by offering services such as psychosocial and post-surgery support.

Participating in Dry July is my way to give back to Bowel Cancer Australia and to thank them for all of their support so far. With the increase in bowel cancer diagnoses in younger people, there is more to be done to ensure earlier detection, fund research for better outcomes and further support those who are faced with this terrible disease.” ~ Megan
