Kat B and The Criterion Hotel Grenfell

“At The Criterion Hotel Grenfell, we have Friday night community raffles, in which each month we choose a community group, organization or individual to fundraise for that month. With June being Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, we decided this would be the perfect opportunity to help raise money for Bowel Cancer Australia. Especially after my best friend Claire lost her husband Jay.

Jay was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May 2025 and lost his battle to bowel cancer on March 11, 2026. I sent out a few messages and emails to Grenfell businesses, to see if they could donate a voucher to add to our raffles, and let’s just say, IT GOT BIG! We had over 30 businesses and individuals donate prizes to our raffles, it was amazing! We raised $7,700 for Bowel Cancer Australia, in our Friday night raffles. My main goal was to (and still is) raise money and awareness for Bowel Cancer Australia. And to honour Jay.” ~ Kat.
