These are James’ words: “We were all supporting Bowel Cancer Australia because they have been a great resource to my partner, Alicia. Alicia was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer just before Christmas 2023, just after her 39th birthday. She had symptoms that were put down to other factors, such as fatigue from being a young mum and IBS, before we were referred to a colonoscopy (which just so happened to be with the wonderful Dr Nik Ding, who supports the #Never2Young campaign). In addition to supporting Alicia, Bowel Cancer Australia does great awareness-raising, which is something Alicia has become particularly passionate about, especially for people under 40. Keep up the great work!” ~ James. Thank you so much, James, for sharing your inspirational story and wonderful words of encouragement with us and also for supporting Alicia. Your awareness and fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated and will have a direct impact, helping to save lives and improve the health and wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer. If you were inspired by James’ fundraising activity and would like to support Bowel Cancer Australia through a social event or fundraiser, check out the Get Involved page on our website.
