My dad Greg was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer in 2007. He noticed blood in his stools. Unfortunately, he passed October 4th, 2009. A day before his birthday.

I recently had a colonoscopy screen, as I had mucus in my stool. I am 45 and a female. I had two polyps removed from my transverse colon. I am now on the register to be checked in six months, then in 12 months, and then 3-yearly.

I’m so happy that I listened to my body and my doctor referred me straight away. This is a tribute to my dad and a lifesaving experience for myself.

Please no matter what symptoms you have always get them checked.
