Katrina’s story Kick Ass All Decembeard Dry July Early-Onset Early-Onset Loved One Kick Ass Late-Onset Being diagnosed at the age of 25 absolutely shook my world and turned it upside down. From the time I got diagnosed, everything went extremely quickly and it felt like I didn’t have time to catch my breath. I’m so grateful I had the time and opportunity to go through Fertility preservation before starting my cancer treatment. It was a long hard year. Getting my head around having a stoma a bag was definitely something new. Unfortunately, there’s not a lot that you can do. I wished the days away so fast waiting to finish treatment and try and get my new normal life happening. It was definitely a long road and one that I will never forget. My one piece of advice: My one piece of strong advice is for young women diagnosed with any form of cancer to look into ovarian graft tissue preservation as that is the only way we were able to have our beautiful daughter. That too was an another very long IVF journey but so rewarding at the end. I am forever grateful the hospital talked us through the benefits of freezing ovarian tissue. Published: April 1, 2025
