Dr Katherine Goodall is a colorectal surgical fellow with a special interest in bowel cancer diagnosis and management.
Diagnosed with early-onset bowel cancer at age 33 while undertaking surgical training, she brings the rare perspective of both surgeon and patient, drawing on both professional and lived experience in her work.
An experienced rural surgeon, she has worked across North and Far North Queensland as well as in rural Victoria as both a surgical trainee and fellow.
She contributes to surgical education and clinical teaching at both Monash University and The University of Queensland.
Recently accepted onto the Accredited Colorectal Surgery Training Program, Dr Goodall is preparing to commence a CSSANZ Fellowship for 2027-28.
Alongside her clinical and academic roles, Dr Goodall volunteers her time as Co-Chair of the Guidelines Leadership Group developing Australia’s Early-Onset Clinical Practice Guidelines.
