Late April this year, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer, and since then, I have undergone surgery (anterior resection) and have started chemotherapy. For two years or so, I had gut issues and fatigue. Not one part of me thought it could have been cancer, and I would put it down to being busy at work and maybe some IBS. This diagnosis has been such a shock to me, and what was more of a shock was that so many other young people are getting the same diagnosis, and sadly, some are catching it too late. I feel so lucky to have had good doctors make good referrals and suggestions for me. I just kick myself that I didn’t get to the doctors sooner. I am so lucky to have so many generous people in my life who wanted to show their support for me, and this cause, and I am so proud that we have been able to raise over $9000. Hopefully, my team of people has been able to contribute to finding out why this is happening to young people and work out what we can do to detect this earlier. Thank you so much, I am so grateful for the work Bowel Cancer Australia is doing 🙏” ~ Bec. Thank you so much, Bec, for your inspiring story! And thank you for supporting Bowel Cancer Australia!
