I was diagnosed with Stage 2b bowel cancer in August 2017, when I went to my doctor feeling extremely tired and seeing blood when I would go to the bathroom. For me I thought this was normal, as I had been previously told I could have Celiac disease and summed it up to being Celiac and I had eaten something with gluten.

I was diagnosed in 2016, after I had a small bleed. The Dr. initially thought I had eaten something sharp and told me not to worry. I had a precautionary colonoscopy two months later - Gee I am glad I did! It was already stage 3.

On April 30 2019 I went for a colonoscopy and knew it wasn’t good news straight away, we were sent for CT and MRI scans immediately after being discharged. On May 2 I was meeting my colorectal surgeon and was told I had Stage 4 colorectal cancer that had spread to my liver. It was a complete shock for me and my family.
