Halls Head College students participated in Relay for Bowel Cancer Run.

Teachers Kallen Williams and Taylor Hughes organised the fundraiser with Year 12 Certificate II Sports coaching students, who wanted to finish out their high school years in a positive way.

Matt was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2016 at just 34 years old.

As part of Red Apple Day and Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, Matt wanted to raise awareness of bowel cancer within his workplace at Microsoft Office.

Emily and Briony took part in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2017 to help raise much needed funds for Bowel Cancer Australia. 

"Ten years ago, one of our grandfathers died in his early 60's due to 6-inches of his bowel dying. Despite this, 90% of cases of bowel cancer can be treated if detected early.

Larn and the team at Healthy Shots for You are a new start up business selling Sappe Aloe Vera drinks in Australia. Having had a number of friends and family members affected by bowel cancer, Healthy Shots for You will be kindly donating 5% of all sales to Bowel Cancer Australia.

During Stomal Therapy Awareness Week (12th-18th June) events were or­ganised at St George Public Hospital by the Stomal Therapy team to help raise awareness and have some fun along the way. These events were a success.
 
"We started the week with a bake off where the creative baking skills of staff were displayed and an enjoyable afternoon tea was held. All proceeds from the day were donated to Bowel Cancer Australia".
