James is a 28-year-old doting father of two little boys who, at the time, where two years old and three months old.

James had no underlying symptoms apart from a slight change in bowel motions which we put down to camp food.

Starting a new year feeling great, after a long Christmas holiday, makes it very hard to comprehend what last year served up.

I remember thinking at the start of 2017 how excited I was about the changes that I had planned for the year.

I could never have imagined that a bowel cancer diagnosis would be on the cards and change everything.

I just got back from a family holiday in Bali when I started feeling very fatigued, dizzy, abdominal pain and short of breath. I was 26 at the time.

To say that I was shocked when I received my bowel cancer diagnosis three years ago is an understatement.  I was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer that had spread to my liver and lung. 

I was scared and angry and couldn’t believe this was happening to ME!
