Lawrence Penn Chair of Bowel Cancer Research

Professor Mark Molloy PhD 
 
Professor Molloy is the inaugural Lawrence Penn Chair of Bowel Cancer Research at The University of Sydney.
 
Professor Molloy is a PhD scientist with 20+ years experience applying molecular technologies including proteomics and genomics to study cancer. His research examines the molecular aspects of bowel cancer development and how biomarkers can be used to personalise patient treatments to achieve best outcomes.

Professor Molloy has authored more than 200 research publications and received research grants from the National Health and Medical Research Council, Australian Research Council, and Cancer Institute NSW, amongst others.

He has supervised 14 PhD students and mentored many early career research fellows.

 
Professor Molloy is passionate about bridging science and clinical medicine to improve lives and outcomes for people at risk of bowel cancer and for those patients with the disease.
