Support for patients with rectal cancer

Bowel Cancer Australia's Bowel Care Nurse is experienced in caring for patients who have been diagnosed with rectal cancer and require concurrent treatments, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgery.

The Bowel Care Nurse helps patients manage the side effects of the radiotherapy and chemotherapy.  Support is also tailored to assist patients in preparing for pre and post-surgery.

Rectal cancer can have a number of side effects that differ from colon cancer.  It is important to be prepared both mentally and physically, in order to reduce the symptoms and side effects experienced by patients during their rectal cancer treatment.
