Caramelised chocolate banana - High Fibre

High fibre makes 4 serves, approximately 3-4 grams of fibre per serve
*Vegetarian, vegan



  • 4 large ripe banana’s skin removed
  • 8 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 60 grams of dark chocolate (or milk) buttons
  • ½ cup of chopped pecans toasted for 2-3 minutes on BBQ or toast in oven for 5-7 minute


  1. Heat BBQ to medium or oven to 180C
  2. Prepare 4 squares of aluminium large enough to wrap one whole banana
  3. Cut bananas in half lengthways place each split banana in the centre of the foil
  4. Dribble two tablespoons of maple syrup over split bananas in each parcel
  5. Wrap the parcel
  6. Cook in BBQ with hood down for 5 minutes, or 7 minutes in the oven
  7. Open the parcels and press chocolate buttons down the centres of each banana slice
  8. Wrap again and BBQ for a further 5 minutes or oven bake for a further 7 minutes or until the chocolate is melted
