A practical online tool to help people make healthier choices.
At Bowel Cancer Australia we understand that sticking to your nutrition and lifestyle goals can be challenging.
That's why we've teamed up with Australian-based company ClickFit®, to develop a new step-by-step program that provides personalised nutrition and fitness tips, real-time tracking, and support to help you meet your goals.
Bowel Cancer Australia's Nutrition + Lifestyle Challenge is delivered online and helps you take the guesswork out of food and fitness.
The Challenge has been developed in collaboration with Bowel Cancer Australia's Nutrition Advisor and incorporates the latest World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) recommendations on food, nutrition and physical activity for the prevention of bowel cancer.
The Challenge is a practical tool to help people make longer-term healthier choices when it comes to food and lifestyle.
The average Aussie eats less than half the recommended amount of fruit and veggies each day, yet there is convincing evidence that dietary fibre from plant-based foods can protect against bowel cancer.
The Nutrition + Lifestyle Challenge recommends an omnivore diet with an emphasis on plant-based meals, as per the WCRF guidelines. Key features of the Nutrition + Lifestyle Challenge include:
- Real-time feedback and support to motivate people to stay on track
- A personalised meal and shopping list planner
- Evidence-based health tips and articles
- A one-click nutrition analysis function, which automatically tracks daily fruit, vegetable, fibre, protein, carbohydrate, sugar and sodium intake
- Exercise plans for each day, including instructional videos and a function to track and analyse time or repetition based measurements.
It is not a weight loss challenge and there is no calorie counting involved. The meal plans include simple, nutrient-rich recipes and there are even options to eat out.
The Nutrition + Lifestyle Challenge is designed as a 12-week program. However there are many meal, snack and exercise programs and these are all interchangeable, which means you can continue the program for as long as you wish.
