People living beyond bowel cancer like Geoff, diagnosed with young-onset bowel cancer at the age of 33, and his family.
“Bowel Cancer Australia has helped me in a number of ways. From helping me spread awareness through participation in their ‘Never Too Young’ program to introducing me to a bunch of awesome people through their Peer-to-Peer Support Network. I’ve benefitted from being both a mentee and a mentor (or whatever the equivalent is!).
The fact that they are funded by donations only inspired me to raise funds for them and in 2017 I walked/ran 515km during June (Bowel Cancer Awareness Month), raising $12,500 in the process. It felt good to be able to give back to an organisation that helps so many people, and at the same time took my mind off the blisters in blisters in blisters on my feet!”
