A memorial golf day was held in Adelaide in June 2018 to celebrate the memory of Carlo Bittoto who passed away from bowel cancer at the age of 53.

What started out as a game of golf to be played by Carlo’s friends grew to be something much bigger as their local soccer team wanted to get involved and raise funds through a memorial game too.

The memorial golf event brought together Carlo’s friends who wanted to honour his memory and raise awareness of bowel cancer. David who was part of the organising committee says, “The golf event was a huge success and it was heart-warming to see everyone involved wanting to pitch in to raise funds for a very important cause.”

The involvement of the community was further demonstrated as a sponsor of the soccer team also made a $200 pledge to Bowel Cancer Australia.

A bright day filled with sunshine at the North Adelaide Golf Course ending with a round (or two) of drinks in honour of Carlo and saw the group raise close to $800 for Bowel Cancer Australia.
