Brigid and Greg have opened an outdoor gear shop called Footprints Gear in Alstonville with profits from the shop going to charities close to their hearts.
Greg's mother passed away from bowel cancer and in 2012 Brigid was diagnosed with bowel cancer which is why they have chosen profits from the shop to go to bowel cancer research.
Footprints Gear combines a passion for outdoor adventure with a deep commitment to philanthropy and social change.
"We have long been involved in charity work and we have found over time that we have just become professional beggars. This venture is our attempt to create a revenue fund for charities we care about. Its a social enterprise. We have a shop, its open and we officially launch early next month. We have donated all the start up capital and we will not take income from it but allow the profits (after we pay one wage for a manager) to go to charities like Bowel Cancer Australia" said Brigid.
Thank you very much Brigid and Greg for supporting Bowel Cancer Australia, helping to save lives and improve the health and wellbeing of people living with bowel cancer.
