Ham and Cheese Parcels (263 )
A great lunch box idea or as an entrée or finger food for entertaining.
Ingredients
Low-fibre - 1 grams fibre per serve
1 sheet of pastry (cut into 9 squares) |
125 grams shredded ham |
1 cup grated cheese |
1 egg for glazing |
Extra virgin olive oil spray |
High-fibre - 2 grams fibre per serve
1 sheet of pastry (cut into 9 squares) |
125 grams shredded ham |
1 cup grated cheese |
1 egg for glazing |
1/4 cup cooked and drained kale (just the green leaves not the stalk) ensure liquid is completely pressed out of the kale |
Extra virgin olive oil spray |
Ham and Cheese Parcels Directions
Heat the oven to 180C
Separate the pastry squares
Distribute the shredded ham, grated cheese and pressed kale (high fibre) evenly in the centre of each pastry square
Fold the edges of the pastry into the middle and ensure each edge touches each other (to avoid too much cheese bubbling out during cooking)
Scramble the egg and paint each top of the pastry with the egg to glaze the surface
Spray a baking tin with olive oil and place the squares on the tin
Bake for 15- 20 minutes until golden
If the underside of the pastry is not cooked flip the square over and bake for another 5 minutes
