Share a healthy meal, while supporting research to find new cures and treatments
Cook for a Cure encourages Australians to cook and share a healthy meal, while supporting research to find new cures and treatments, in areas such as bowel cancer.
Bowel Cancer Australia is excited to be participating in the Cook for a Cure campaign, and would love your help in supporting bowel cancer research - in particular a blood test to revolutionise bowel cancer screening.
How You Can Help
Bowel Cancer affects both men and women, young and old. It is Australia's second biggest cancer killer, with 1 in 12 Australians expected to develop bowel cancer before age 85.
You can help make a difference, and have lots of fun at the same time, by supporting bowel cancer research through Cook for a Cure.

How Your Support will Make a Difference
There are more than 14,000 reasons to support bowel cancer research through Cook for a Cure - one for each person whose life will be changed when they are diagnosed with bowel cancer, and that's just in one year.
In a discovery that could revolutionise bowel cancer screening the world over, a team of Australian scientists are working to develop the first effective, reliable and affordable blood based test for bowel cancer.
The test has the potential to save thousands of lives and improve survival rates dramatically, encouraging more people to screen for the disease and increasing effectiveness of bowel cancer prevention programs in Australia.
It is incredibly important to Bowel Cancer Australia that we do everything possible to prevent this disease, and if we are unable to do that – to detect it early. That's why we've chosen to raise funds for this important research project through Cook for a Cure – it really does have the potential to revolutionise bowel cancer screening in Australia (and the world!).
The bowel cancer blood test is a collaborative effort combining expertise from biotechnology company Clinical Genomics, the CSIRO and Flinders University's Centre for Innovation in Cancer.
