One of Loxton Aero’s Club members, Patrick Vowles developed bowel cancer and passed away in 2011. As a tribute to his contribution to the club built an extension to the club-rooms as a BBQ area and named “Pat’s Place” in honour of him.
Duani Vowles on behalf of her family officially opened the kitchen, unveiling the sign above the door proclaiming this as “Pat’s Place” and thanked the Club for honouring her late husband with this kitchen extension. “Pat would be very chuffed to have this kitchen built, and he’d love to have all pilots and friends of the Aero Club to enjoy this resource, it’s a great addition to the club. The family and I are very thankful to the club for naming this in his honour” she said.
The opening was celebrated with a Luncheon held to raise funds for Bowel Cancer Australia, with over a thousand dollars being given to the cause. Warmest thanks to everyone at Loxton Aero Club for making a difference.
