Inspired by the effects of bowel cancer on the lives of their families, good friends Callie, Michelle and Jennelle joined together to make a difference for a cause that was very close to their hearts. They set out to raise valuable funds for Bowel Cancer Australia in the hope that it would to go towards promoting awareness, providing support to those affected and conducting research into the disease.

The girls held a ladies high tea in their backyard and provided delicious food and drinks for guests who paid to come along and join in the fun.

The garden was decorated to create a magical array of red, pink and white bunting, lanterns and flowers. With two fabulously comedic MCs, Tim and James, the day couldn't have got off to a better start.

Due to the generous donations of local businesses the girls were able to hold a raffle, a silent auction and also offer a range of amazing prizes for games that were played throughout the day.

There was a guessing competition, a coin toss and 'Pin the Spot on the Teapot', as well as a photo booth. There was even a hashtag attached to the pics taken as a means of raising awareness and starting conversations about what is sometimes considered to be an uncomfortable condition to discuss.

The event, 'High Tea for BC' was a huge success, with a whopping $2,655 raised for Bowel Cancer Australia.

The girls could not have done it without the generosity of local companies, the support of friends and family who assisted in the lead up to the event, as well as the enthusiasm of everyone who attended on the day.

"We want to say a big thank you to everyone who got involved and they are looking forward to bowel cancer being beaten once and for all! With love from Callie, Michelle and Jennelle... #highteaforbc"

Big thanks for your support Callie, Michelle and Jennelle, we really appreciate it.
