IT’S Crunch Time at Iceworks Restaurant in Paddington next Thursday night, as they sponsor a cocktail evening in support of Bowel Cancer Australia. Organiser Bonnie D’Arcy said she was inspired to create the event after a close family member was diagnosed with the disease this year. “Thankfully it appears the diagnosis was made fairly early and they’re now recovering well after receiving chemotherapy,” she said. “The purpose of our event is to raise some much needed funds to help fight this disease, and to let people know how important it is to have regular checks by your doctor. Bowel cancer can strike any age, and early detection can be vital towards beating it.” The evening will include music from duo Bitter and Twisted, and auction items including an original painting by local artist Sharon Fuller.
