Mission
The Institute’s missions is to decrease the impact of bowel cancer and digestive diseases in our society and help save lives through support of ongoing medical research and responsibly raising community awareness of risk factors and symptoms, in order to facilitate early diagnosis and participation in screening programs, where applicable.
Aims
The Institute aims to raise funds to -
- establish Australia’s inaugural Chair in Gastroenterology to spearhead bowel cancer and digestive health research;
- raise employee and community awareness of bowel cancer and digestive disorders/diseases, including risk factors, symptoms and appropriate screening; and
- conduct collaborative, internationally competitive research, investigating the underlying causes, optimum diagnostic and management techniques, strategies for prevention and health outcomes for bowel cancer and digestive disorders/diseases.
