A new information booklet about bowel cancer is being distributed to GPs around Australia this month ahead of Bowel Cancer Awareness Week (3-9 June).
GPs are the first port of call for anyone with concerns about their risk of bowel cancer – whether they have suspicious symptoms or a family history of bowel cancer.
GPs are also the people we trust to advise us on general health maintenance and the prevention of common conditions, especially as we age. The booklet will be made available to patients to support their GPs advice.
The booklet covers a range of topics such as:
- Bowel cancer symptoms
- Prevention of bowel cancer
- Family history
- Medical investigations
- Other bowel problems
- Questions your doctor will ask you
